Toxification and pollution of Lake Victoria is a major problem in the region. Together with BGY Bright Green Youth OQ set up a clean up and detoxification project in Kenya at lake Victoria. I would like to introduce BGY Kenya Bright Green Youth.
They are fighting for a better life for their children, for a better water quality.
The lake water at Lake Victoria is full of toxins and sewage, causing diarrhea and other deseases. Children got sick.
We from Ocean Quest are supporting them for two years now. But we do not have the budget for this huge challenge .
We are planning a Web-shop. selling small pieces of art from the communities. Most of the revenue goes to Africa.

Combination of solar power and water pipelines
- Access to clean water remains a struggle for many of rural Kenya’s poorest households. Some counties, where rural electrification is widely lacking – are now tapping into solar energy to pump water to villages from nearby rivers keeping their water storage tanks full.
- Costs are estimated of 8 million Kenya shillings ($80,000) for the solar pump. The project could serve over 40,000 people.
- Once the tank is out some meters over the bottom, the pressure of the water is sufficient to use a pipeline system, e.g. from +GF+ Piping
- There are of course numerous options how to do this!
Alternatively, old lorries can be rebuilt with a water tank of 5000 – 10’000 liters on the loading areas. This is especially useful for very isolated areas.
